I have read prior posts and everything on this subject, but has anyone ever actually switched from the auto to manual with postive results. If you have switched did it pick up your power that much making it worth it. More or less looking for the plus or minus of the idea.

i bought a last place pickup running an auto...... put a 4speed in it, started battling for 2 and 3rd..... put new heads on..... became a 1st place truck...... then i was called a cheater, and the rest is history

Would you drive a peterbilt with an automatic?

We noticed a huge difference when we switched from a C6 to a Manual.

Yup, C6 to a manual with a pro-fab and I'll never go back.

I don't think it is the HP difference you notice. It is being able to drive the truck is where I have found the big difference from auto to stick in a pulling truck.
