i have heard that the rule of thumb was to keep all the tubes with in a few inches from eachother on length. I personally ahve never built a set. i currently run in chassis headers that are equal length and they have smaller tubes than my fenderwell headers that were a mile apart on length and the in chassis headers run way better. but. the fenderwell headers were not mandrel bent and they were 2.25" tubes. my in chassis are 1and 7/8".

As close as you can 1 inch is not a deal killer.

Thanks, ya my tubes r 2.25 dia. . Im running them outside frame. I think i made gd headway last night. Got all tubes between 28" and 29.5. 45 hrs to get them all fitted, wow long time. Now just have to weld them up, i hav couple of gaps to fill but not bad for first time.
