FACT: The show is titled "Who's Your Daddy?"
FACT: It is a reality gameshow with cash prizes
FACT: 7 men lie to this woman about being her father in an attempt to deceive her and win the money
I don't need to watch this show in order to be able to make a judgement in this case...I can certainly smell a pile of fresh manure and therefore avoid stepping in it. Ignorance is not found in stepping around the manure or in attempting to have it cleared away so that others who are less aware won't be soiled by it, but rather in ignoring the smell and stepping in it anyway. No amount of emotional hype is going to make this show "tasteful" or right...it is what it is...manure...and sprinking sugar on it won't change that fact.
I am not a mindless American who will watch any show that these money grubbing exploitive TV execs decides to dish out. I do not watch "The Swan" or any of the other garbage shows on TV today, but I did use the opportunity that "The Swan" presented to talk to my daughters about what real beauty is. I will also use this disgusting show to raise awareness about the need for open adoption records so that adopted persons do not need to resort to being exploited in order to find the answers they need.
Finola is a beautiful woman on the outside, but her involvment in this show makes me question her motives and ethics. If she is truly concerned about helping adopted persons find answers, she should give some of her time, money and celebrity status toward changing adoption laws...not toward programming like this. There are many celebrities who have successfully taken on the issue of HIV awareness without being part of a reality gameshow titled "Guess who's infected?" (Ooops, I probably just gave FOX an idea!)
