I have been a Finola Hughes fan since her early days obn GH. I watched so much of her work through the years and even saw some of her movies and shows like Jack's Place and Pacific Palasaides. I was happy when she came back to daytime because I have always felt that this was her medium. She's an actress who can make each day seem fresh and new on a show even when the writing or story may be bad. I have even become interested in her nakeover show. I don't watch it every week, but when I can I watch it and I actually enjoy it.
I will confess I was shocked to hear that Finola had signed on to be the host for who's your daddy. Just reading the press release for this show I could tell that it would be something I could not enjoy no matter if Finola was on it or not. Curiosity did get the best of me and I unfortunately gave in and watched it. The show in my humble opinion was completely repulsive. without any redeeming social value at all! It was the worst trash I had ever seen and that means that Fox managed to top itself. I'm so so sorry that I tuned in, but I am even sorrier that someone who I liked so much for so long had any part of it. I come to this board sometimes and every now and then I see negative messages which I don't agree with, but this time, I agree with them all.
I miss Finola, the great actress and storyteller. I can do without Finola, the run of the mill tv personality and realty tv host. Sometimes I believe that its admirable to be a little bit choosy about the work we do. Hopefully in the future Finola will get some better career advice. I wouldn't be paying any comission to the folks who advised her to take this job. They tossed her right into the lion's den and did nothing but bring on bad reviews and from some of the critiques I have read a bunch of condemnation.
