I wIll admit to being biased where Finola is concerned, but I was so impressed with her content and candor while speaking at the O Convention in Boston. I have been to many women convention's and I have to say that Finola was just so incredible! What touches the audience is not just the "human" touch that Finola mentions, it is the honesty that she conveys in her message. So many people who speak publicly do not realize that what touches the soul is when another human being is strong enough and courageous enough to put the truth out there without excuses, and that is exactly what Finola did. I especially loved when she mentioned that it does not matter whether something is done perfectly or not...what matters is the attempt to do it. This speech was so utterly refreshing because she conveys to the audience that she has flaws like all of us do and yet she has accepted that she nor anyone else will ever be perfect. But what I loved the most is when she tells the audience that she has missed oppurtunities because she has chosen to put her family first. She simply states about her children: "you can never get these moments back." In a few moments of time she allowed all of us a glimpse of her past, how cherishing she finds her present, and most of all, as all of her work does, she reaches those of us watching with hope.
