Yo, Mme Hazel, just wanted to thank you for posting all the awesome Anna and Duke clips on You Tube. You're a woman after my own heart---the Laverys are the one and only soap couple I've ever been obsessed with. None of my own grainy 20-year-old videotapes of them pre-date their first, aborted wedding, so I'd almost completely forgotten about some of the early scenes you posted. I was especially glad to see the scene where Duke tells Anna about his father's dock accident---I swear I couldn't remember whether that part of his backstory actually happened or whether I had imagined it in one of my addled adolescent daydreams back in the days before Internet "fan fic" had been invented. Was there another scene during Duke's own paralysis where Duke tells Anna to leave him because he's just half a man and he doesn't want her to make sacrifices the way he thinks his mother did after his dad's accident? Or did I actually make up that part? If it exists and you've got it, I'd love to see it.
