This season I have seen the litter problem even worse than in other years. Monday morning I visited Waterloo Springs and there was rubbish everywhere I looked. I always clear up round my own position but as I only had one plastic shopping bag with me could not remove it all. Empty drink bottles, crisp packets, open tins etc. were the main items removed.Similar remarks apply to Marion's Pool and the fact that half-term occured during the worst offences makes me wonder just why these anglers bother to go fishing when they have so little respect for our environment.
This was all was left over the last weekend for certain, as I fished there the previous week when the rubbish was not visible. I know the club does politely remind fellow anglers not to break rules but I have to say that very few people I see observe the the rules concerning groundbaiting and obstructing the pathways.
