I've been watching what I can of Friday's Phantoms game, and I've noticed a lack of the D stepping into the opponent to seperate them from the puck. Jones, Pitkanen and Prince all have good size, but I don't see them using it as best as they can to seperate players from the puck -- mainly, I'm refering to them trying to stick check when it appeared they would have made a better play by stepping into the opponent and removing them from the puck.
To those Sidenberg fans, while he doesn't have the best size, he makes up for it with his speed, agility and great point shot. I don't really expect smaller D-men to be able to seperate big forwards from the puck, but rather to use their speed and agility to be all over them and to breakup the play -- Dennis does a really good job of doing that. Although he did get burned on the first goal (I think it was the first) of Friday's game.
