Hi! Pretty new to the E! fandom and I usually lurk. But I decided to post this bit of information. Tomorrow, tuesday the 27th on A&E at 9am and encore at 4pm there's the episode Murder digs deep with Randy. It's the eleventh episode on Season two (1985). I don't know if he has a big role but I sure will tape it.

I remember watching E! on late night reruns when I was 15 (23 years ago!!!) and I've only seen a handful of them. And since I didn't speak much english at that time, the visual was very important (like that cute crooked grin or that nice butt...) BUT call me obsessed or crazy, I ordered the full 6 seasons of Emergency at TV Shrine ***Thank you Amanda***(mucho dinero that I spent, but my hubby can't say no to me!!!). And since I've pulled a John Gage (I broke my left fibula and dislocated my ankle, they had to operate. Been in a cast for the last 8 weeks but it goes off tomorrow yay!!!)I've had plenty of times to watch my fav show. In order, no less. And thanks to all your comments on this forum, I've been able to catch all the subtlety of the show. But that doesn't mean that I won't watch my tapes over and over again. (Yeah I know they forgot the straight jacket when they put the cast on, lol.

So again hello to all of you, thanks for this great forum (Nice site and pics, Tigg) and don't forget to watch Randy tomorrow.

Peace and a crooked grin

Thanks for the reminder. I hope you will let us know how you like the episode once you've seen it. I enjoyed it, especially the irony of casting him as Raymond "Two Crows" DeMarko. Of course, I like him even when he plays a really bad guy, I'm a long time fan of all his work.

Not a big role and as far from John Gage as he could be. He looked serious or pissed off most of the time. But I liked it. Of course he had too little screen time for my taste, but man, is he fine looking or what? I have to go now, I still have a few tapes of Emergency to watch.

He sure looked fine the brief time he was on. That story needs some of our great writers to do a fanfic, make Raymond the hero, and just rewrite the whole thing. Thank goodness for Emergency tapes, and lovable Johnny Gage.

Yeah, definitely too little screen time for my taste too, but I think I managed to catch a little sweetness even in this role. I'll have to go back and look at my tape of it again, but I think I remember noticing that when Angela Landsbury is ready to get out of the jeep, he hurries around to her side to help her out. And you know what else, he can really wear a pair of jeans! Okay, get the strait jacket now, but I love also in Emergency! whenever they show Roy & John in street clothes, and RM is in jeans. An episode that hit me was The Parade, where they are going to work on the Old Engine, and John comes pulling in the parking lot in his Rover and gets out and he's in jeans and I think a yellow T-shirt with another shirt over it, goes over to ask I think Chet & Mike or Marco who's going to fill in for them and then asks where Roy is. He has the part they needed for the Old Engine and he goes over to it and then Roy pulls into the parking lot & now Roy has three parts and he tells John this and John climbs onto the engine and I also noticed in this scene that there is this nice, comforting music in the background! Well, that was a real nice scene there! And fine looking, for sure!!!

Murder she wrote and other shows

Totally with you with John in civvies. The Parade was a good one. The way he takes off his sunglasses is absolutely sexy... But in Welcome to Santa Rosa County he was yummy. With his sunglasses and yes his jeans, oh boy!!!I always wondered how he would look in leather pants...Unfortunately it was not fashion in the seventies... Big sigh...

Now if I can find copies of other shows he appeared on...Like Diagnosis Murder and Vegas (that's an old one!) and Fantasy Island and The Love Boat and everything that is mentioned in his filmography...Were VCR around when those shoes were on? lol...

Night night...

The Columbia House tapes of Adam 12 have the Reason to Run episode and Lost & Found episode he was in. Also their Night Gallery has Class of 99, on volume 4. I loved him in Vegas and one of my favorites was The Fall Guy, episode "The Lucky Stiff". ...

I agree with both of you

he looks great in jeans. He did courteously get Jessica's bags out of the jeep. I remember many years ago he did a jeans commercial. At least I think I remember it. He was playing pool and.. looked really nice. Of course I like him in uniform, fire department, any branch of service, love US Cavalry ( I'm a western fan from way back). I have been lucky enough to collect some of his guest appearances but I'm always looking for new sources. There are some that I can't find anywhere, The Detective School series, Sierra, The Scene of the Crime, True Confessions and Marriage Year One and Aloha Paradise. Also Vanished, although I do have a clip of the minute or so he was in that. Vanished was the first 2 part TV movie, according to my internet surfing. It had tons of stars,I wish some station would rerun it. I have e mailed History Channel and asked them to run it in their "movies in time" spot, so far they haven't. I think it has maybe 9 or 10 votes on the TVONDVD site. I'd better be quite now, or this will turn into a rant.

He did a jean commercial?!! Wow, now I would like a tape of that! But don't get me wrong, he looks cute enough in the blue shirt and pants, and I have noticed (it's hard not to) that there are a lot of shots from behind especially when they are working on a victim, I thought sometimes because they don't want to show what is being done to the person and it is a way to block showing the victim so the camera is behind them and there are a LOT of interesting angles! There is a cute one I noticed in It's How You Play The Game, where John gets punched in the face when he asks this guy where he is hurt, right before that happens, he climbs in to get closer to check the guy out and the camera is behind him but as he is climbing in, well it is a nice shot! Okay, cold drink, now! Oh, and I have not seen the Westerns, well just the screen captures, but he looks good in those. He looks like he fits in that time period; especially in the Seekers, which I did get to see, (I even remember when it originally aired and being so excited when it was going to first be on) he looked just right for that role. I also remember because it was (I thought) a stand-out performance, the Marcus Welby, Solomon's Choice episode, now this was when I didn't know who he was, but I remember watching that when it aired and it always stuck with me; well, Marcus Welby, M.D. was a really good show too. I'll stop ranting now cause I want to look up Vanished!

Wonder if I should start a new thread? I may be too late, but I wanted to give you the imdb site for Vanished since there are several shows with that one word name. Probably you already found it, but just in case
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067926/

Randy really is just in it about a minute, playing a Navy guy who does something technical with what must have been the latest equipment in 1971. I loved that Marcus Welby show too, it stuck with me also. I wish Tvland would show it again, but they seem to only have comedy shows now.

Hey, thank u for that link to look up Vanished! I had not found it yet, so thanks. I was busy looking at more screen captures. You said that it was the first 2-part TV movie--you know, I was thinking, he really did some intersting roles in a lot of the shows he guest-starred in and I was trying to remember when The Seekers aired, how I even got to see it because it was something called Operation Prime Time, I can't remember if it was something new one of the networks was trying out or it was early cable, or what, but I just remember watching it, all of it, and also, The Testimony Of Two Men, that was a pretty early mini-series (wish he'd had a bigger part in that). You know, he just really did some interesting, innovative things--took some risks, for sure!

I'm finally glad I got to see Fantasy Island on TVLand. Next to Randy's Marcus Welby apperance, it's one of my favorites.

As for Murder She Wrote . . . for obvious reasons, that one not so much. Mainly because he wasn't in it too much. (Same thing goes for his MacGyver apperance.)

Actually, it's funny someone mentioned rewriting episodes as Fanfiction. I have a tendency to write follow ups to some of Randy's other appearances. I hated what happened in his Love Boat appearance, so I decided to have Alan Billingsly go on another cruise, only with better luck in the woman department. I also had him interact with the crew more than he did in the episode. (At first I was determined not to tape his appearance, but after repeat viewings, the episode kinda grew on me.

I've also done a sequel to his Marcus Welby appearance . . . and I'm still trying to do one for Battlestar Galactica, but I can't get the bugs out.

Great! I've read that the Battlestar Galactica, Greetings From Earth, was considered for a spin off series. ( I don't write anything down myself, (that would be work), but I imagine continuation of almost all the shows I see him in. In my version, he is always the hero and a good guy. It was somewhat difficult with "Enemy Action" and" Rainbow's End on Walker Texas Ranger".) I admire anyone who actually writes their story down, I'd enjoy reading your stories if you decide to post them someday.

I finally got to see that Battlestar Galactica episode and after watching it over a few times, the thing that sticks with me is that storyline is so relevant today, now I know it is Sci-Fi, but when RM explains what was going on, how it is fighting between the East & the West, well, I just was thinking, you could sure say that about planet Earth right now.
