Since this is a company I've never heard of...be careful if you order. The title of the webpage is "Untitled Document" which tells me the site may not professional. Anyone with a good DVD burner and the know-how can convert VHS to DVD these days. I just can't help but be leary....don't know what kind of quality it is.
Sorry for the disappointment, but these are illegal copies. Someone has just taken Columbia House tapes and burned them to DVD. That's a serious copyright violation. If you've got the CH tapes, you aren't getting anything new for your money. If you buy the DVDs anyway, be sure you know who you're buying them from. eBay shut down this seller a few months ago.
I believe this is not an official release, just DVDs probably made from the Columbia House tapes. It might be ok, but I'm going to wait for an official release from Universal Studios. Anyway I'm hoping for season sets and there is no official release that I know of. Maybe a release from Universal would be in stores, the Battlestar Galactica was and it was reported in several places, like the TVSHOWSONDV.com http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/showsearch.cfm
They haven't reported any new information on Emergency although there was a big release of other shows recently. This just my opinion, I could be mistaken, so take it for what its worth.
It's only a matter of tome until Emergency! comes out from Universal. I just wish it was sooner than later. I spend my days checking tv shows on dvd for the final release date.
Hi Fay, I think you're right. I was looking at tvshowsondvd just now and they have 899 votes for Emergency! Night Gallery had a lot less than that, and that show is getting released. Of course I only want to buy the third season (I think) which has the Class of 99 episode. The Columbia House videos have it on tape, but I'd like that one on DVD if they get to season three. I hope they have all seasons of Emergency!, I want all of them, plus the Sierra crossover and Adam 12 episodes. Maybe next year.
I've been wondering since I left my message on Thursday if Universal might include the Sierra crossover as a bonus with an EMERGENCY! dvd release. They're including the Magnum/Simon and Simon crossover on The Magnum dvd even though it didn't happen until the 3rd season. I'm actually an old tv show on dvd addict. I don't get any of the old show channels here and with my schedule the dvd's are perfect. A lot of the Universal shows in that book are on my want list.
That's right. Magnum PI has a lot of famous guest stars in the cross over episodes that they're releasing in the first season set, which were in later seasons. Of course, Ernest Thompson of Sierra is pretty famous too as the writer of "On Golden Pond". I couldn't find the Emergency crossover or any episode of Sierra in any of the trading clubs I belonged to. It was just too long ago and no vcrs then, I guess. Tvland was a really good source for some shows, but they don't have anything now, except maybe MacGyver, Charlie's Angels, Love Boat and Fantasy Island if they even have those . I'm not sure if they do or not, I gave up watching TVland. Those shows aren't among my favorites, but I try and watch or record it when Randy or one of the guys is a guest star. We get lots channels here, but they seem to show the same shows, no real choice. I'd like to see some old dramas from the 60s, 70s and 80's, but they don't seem to have any, and very few are on DVD's yet. Maybe there will soon be more choice on DVD, I hope so.
I looked up at a website which Solar is referring to us. Like others have stated, I could tell that someone obviously copied the episodes into DVD from the Columbia House's VHS tapes in violation of copyright. I rather wait to hear about an official release from TVShowsOnDVD.com, which I've subscribed to be notified of any new release of my favorite TV shows. Just be careful about some sites that sell illegal DVDs or VHS tapes of any movie or TV show.
I heard about this violation of copyrights being done also on another Emergency site.
It's as bad as what one seller on Ebay was doing regarding another 70's show (western) and it was just recently too. He had taped this show right off the TV when it was on and was selling the VHS tapes as is with commercials and all.
People don't have anything better to do today than rip people off. And the sad thing is: even when you let the proper people know what's going on - they ignore you.
