Hi everyone!
We're slowly getting back to normal here. They've lifted the curfew for our parish but stores are still closing early, so that's weird! No more lines at the gas stations and no more "No Gas" signs anywhere, so that's a relief! I have 2 1/2 more weeks before I can go back to work, so for the moment I am enjoying time to catch up! We've had power for over a week and cable came a few days ago, and the Internet has been off and on working, so I am thankful for that. Cable is coming in from Baton Rouge instead of New Orleans, so that's a bit weird! Our home phone is still not working at all. Cell phones work with persistance, LOL. Usually I can get a call through on the 4th try!
My family has been so blessed, and I am thanking God every day. Thank you all for your prayers!! Everyday the news brings tears to my eyes. It's overwhelming what people have been through. My brother may never even get to go to his home to try and salvage anything. It's just heartbreaking. We're praying that the folks from St. Bernard Parish will get to go home one last time. All the homes there are going to have to be demolished. All the schools and businesses too.
I am a full supporter of the American Red Cross after seeing them in action. There was NO delay in their support, so if anyone wants to donate to relief effort, please consider them!
Anything sent to me will be given to my brother to aid his efforts in starting over. My brother (Steve) is the kind of person that will help anyone himself, when asked. His home is included in this image:

Thanks again to everyone of you for your concern and prayers. Please continue to pray for all those displaced by this storm.
Thanks!
