Let's review

I assume you got the "Password Wrong" menu and chose option 4.

You then got the "input your password carefully..." prompt.

You entered a password, say "aPPle"

You got a countersign (in this case "vg")

You then started over and entered the following in the password field:

aPPle, vg

(That's password, comma, space, countersign in lower case)

Are you saying that the program didn't honor that??
