While I was living in San Diego a couple years back, I used to see a woman and her two little kids walking around downtown. I had Thor with me just about every time I went out. One day, we walked around the corner
of a building and there stood the mom and kids. The little girl of 7 yrs old, ran up to Thor, throwing her arms around his neck planted a big ol kiss right on Thors mouth !! I smiled and looked up at the mom who had a strange yet semi-scared look on her face.
I reassured her that Thor absolutly LOVED kids.
She told me she knew that he was a good dog. Apparently she had a Pit Bull while growing up.
The mom then went on to tell me that her daughter(kissing on Thor) was deathly afraid of dogs!
She had been bitten a year earlier. But out on their walks the little girl would sometimes comment about "that red doggy". So the time had come. The girl was still afraid of dogs she told me. "But not your dog mister". I could tell he was a good doggy from across the street she would say. She told me she would watch for Thor on her walks. And watch she did. I'd see her running from two blocks away to come give Thor some lovin'. Kids afraid of dogs, just not our bulldawgs !!
Heartwarming isn't it ??
