Rather nice day outside, so while i wait for my buddy to get home i decided to take a stab at this.......
Here's the starting point: getting the damn stator/alt centered over the magnet. I ended up taking some "plastic" tape and wrappin it around the magnet part until the stat/alt fit on snug. Figure thats close to center as i'm gonna get lol
Then, i cut some thin plate "tabs" and some round stock to make stand offs out of....
Here's the stand offs mounted.....still need to be grinded into shape better, but you get the basic idea. This part was easy...making the next piece may be a little harder as i hafta make a circle that is notched to allow mounting the stat/alt, then weld that piece to these stand offs.
More pix will follow, as soon as i finish my java and get back out in the shop.....unless my buddy FINALLY gets his ass back home lol
What yas think? I ain't no machinist by far, but think it'll work?
