I'm not sure I understand just what it is your asking, But that's just me I'm sure .....
But here I go, and I hope you'll understand, Yes there are many mig/tig setups out there, and they work just fine.
Matter of fact, as I was telling Cooter, I think it was Cooter, that you can Tig with a buzz box welder just reverse the leads and if the buzz box has AC you can do Tig aluminum if you get a High Frequency unit that plugs in the leads.
When you talk waves and stuff is where you lost me I guess, until you get into the higher priced units you don't get all the wave patterns, crater fill, post purge and the rest of the bells and whistles, you would have a scratch start turn the gas on at the torch be careful how you stop so you don't get a fish eye at the end Tig welder .....
