Is that if it goes down then you run the risk of totalling the cases......

Could you bend a couple of tubes to make bolt on dummy frame rails? Add a welded brace between the rails and attach the controls to the dummy rails.

I like to hang them on "sacrificial" plates that will break first in the event of a crash. Means less to fix after.
