....but my Accord had this problem. I thought at first I could get it out the top, but found that the fit ended up being a little toooo tight, and the engine won't pitch forward. Had to go under, and do that or end up making extra work by teearing a whole bunch down. Hopefully the story of the Prelude is different....
As far as the dash, that stands to confirm my beliefs further to me as being an alternator problem. Honda does a unique thing with its electrical. Instead of pretty much everything intertwined circuit wise, Honda strips out like a spider web. Charging system as the hub. Instead of an electreic loss affecting everything, branches of the system are affected separately. i.e. you have a vlotage output discrepancy - it could affect your dash lights without initially affecting fuel system or headlights. As the problem progresses it'll move into other systems. DOes that make sense?
That's why they are so much more a pain in the ass to work on. Not as bad as VW's, but close.....
