It was running good, but I had to sell it. I needed cash really bad. I spun a rod bearing in my olds and did some pretty extensive damage to the 455 engine. Needed the money to get that issue sorted out. I've got $650 in machine work in the engine and about $700 in new engine parts. It's bored .030 over. Making it a 461.
Speed pro pistons, edelbrock cam, edelbrock lifters, edelbrock intake manifold, Cloyes timing, crane rockers, melling push rods, melling High Volume oil pump, and a 770cfm Holley double pumper.
It should be the fastest 1957 4 door olds out there after I'm done. I'm guessing in the 425hp range.
I sold my triumph also to get the car right. Hard to see the chop go, but I get my enjoyment from building them and that one was done.
I would like to find myself another cheap triumph just to have around. I wouldn't want to do anything too fancy with it, maybe just make a 1950's style cafe racer. If you hear of anything, let me know.
I am selling this silverwing for a guy at work. He has had it since 1998 and never drove it. It was driven daily before that. He turned it over every now and then, but last year it stopped running. I did a quick assesment and it would not be hard to get back on the road, probably about 6 hours of work. The bike has under 30K miles.
