The Buell front end is too short. Good advice, checking if it would work before sinking money into it! lol I think I may buy some 41mm legs from Terry and have you do some trees for em. Sound Ok? I'll keep in touch.

Try hooking the links together with a piece of copper wire or clamping them down to a plate and hook your ground to the plate.Could be the chain also, alot of that hardened chain has been case-hardened and chemicals used in the process will cause bad welds.Try lowes or one of the larger outfits for some unplated unhardened chain.

im thinking that weldon sporty rear sections would work fine. might have to spread that top mount area out a little huh?
ive seen them done, but just wanted another opinion as to if its a decent idea, as the brit rigid rears are up to like 150-200 bucks.
i'm trying to save a buck or two.

...that thing'll probably run till the wheels fall off.
I'll send some pics of a toy I recently got and will probably pic up next week. A clue it has 4 wheels, made in 1949, runs great and incorporates a little something called "Fluid-drive"....

...there's a nubbin's off the backbone that should be easy enough to bolt up. Might have to make small adjustment but should be easy enough. Of course that's after you hack off the welded seat support....

and i am NOT looking for pity or sympathy AT ALL...........just wanna let ya's know whats goin on here.
Monday mornin i woke up at 3am feelin like somebody buried a damn machette in my skull.........couldn't see straight and the pain was UNFUCKINGREAL........
So i went to the doc........spent over 9 hours there, gettin checked out for anything and everything. Needless to say, the doc is thinking i have a brain aneurysm..........not 100% sure, but she was willing to bet money that thats what it is
Anywhos, the doc & the boss made damn sure i am not goin back to work till released by the doc..........which won't happen till i at LEAST have a cat scan............the bastages.........
SO, if i owe you money, parts, etc etc please gimmie some time to get things goin around here again. The time off is definately goin to hit the wallet hard, but from my understanding it's DEFINATELY something i need to get taken care of.
And on that note, i now return you to yer favorite pastime of cruisin the postboards

just picked up a '84 Honda Prelude..........dual CV Keihin carb model and need some info:
Little history:
Picked up the car in Olney, Illinois (about 380-400 miles from me) where it had been sitting inside a storage barn for almost 6 years. Needless to say, the gas inside the tank was total CRAP, but it did start and run..........very well as a matter of fact, but refused to idle.
Drove her onto the car dolly, hauled it to the nearest autozone and picked up 2 new fuel filters (theres 2 on this thing.......), dist. cap & rotor, plugs, and some Heet gas line stuff along with some Injector/carb cleaner. Installed all this stuff there in the Autozone parking lot, hauled the car to the nearest gas station and filled the tank full of premium gas........
Hauled the car for about 100 miles on the dolly, figuring the nice Illinois back roads would help mix the gas/treatment together a bit........which it did
Got on highway 57 and decided to try driving it......unloaded her, fired right up but still wouldn't idle. figured ok, i'll run it and see what happens. Drove her approx 80 miles without any probs (except letting off the gas and she would die) and then noticed my headlights were gettin rather dim
Loaded her back onto the dolly and drove the rest of the way home. Got up the next mornin (Sunday) and went right to work on her. Turned the idle way up and ran her for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours (with the charger on her as the alternator appears to be shot) when the carbs FINALLY broke free and the rpm's took off like a shot Idled her back down and haven't had an idle problem since.........BUT.........now it has these probs:
1. choke doesn't seem to be working at all......NO clue on how to even check the choke(s) on this thing as i can't find a manual anywhere Anybody have any idears?
2. Once she's warm she idles like a top and doesn't miss a beat. BUT, it will die just like i turned the ignition off Usually starts right back up without a problem, but last night when it did it the last time i actually hadta crank it for a bit to get her to fire.........again, any idears?
Here's a few pix i just took of her........pretty lil car

Hey there, been gone awhile, but got an answer for ya.....
by ol_scratch (no login)
....alternator. Honda's fuel system is alternator dependent. If the alt starts throwing out weird voltages it affects the fuel system - shower down affect. Mostly noticeable on the idle(also explains headlights). Probably need a new one - which will set youi back 110, and a little advice. Alt is in the rear of the engine, you will need to pry the bottom of the engine forward 1.5 inches inorder to remove.
Hope that helps, hope you are doing well....

didn't know if the alternator would cause it or not, even though i did disassemble the distributor last night and cleaned it all up really good. Didn't find anything out of the ordinary in there though, just figured cleaning it up may help some. Also cleaned up the coil......looked like it had been sittin there untouched sense the car was new lol
Dunno about prying the motor forward.............not sayin yer wrong though by any means, but it "looks" like once the aircleaner assembly is removed that maybe the alt will slide up through the top? Figure i'll give it a shot.....worst that can happen is that i do indeed need to move the momo lol
Oh hey, how well you know the honda cars? Got no dash/gauge lights and no interior light either.........checked all wiring, cleaned all connections i can find, replaced ALL bulbs and still nadda Now the glovebox light works, and so does the fuse panel light, but nuthin else.....oh yeah, and the electronic tach "sticks" a bit..........any idears there?
Other than that, doin ok on this end..........well, with the exception of bein off work last couple of days for medical reasons. How's bout yerself Scratch?

....but my Accord had this problem. I thought at first I could get it out the top, but found that the fit ended up being a little toooo tight, and the engine won't pitch forward. Had to go under, and do that or end up making extra work by teearing a whole bunch down. Hopefully the story of the Prelude is different....
As far as the dash, that stands to confirm my beliefs further to me as being an alternator problem. Honda does a unique thing with its electrical. Instead of pretty much everything intertwined circuit wise, Honda strips out like a spider web. Charging system as the hub. Instead of an electreic loss affecting everything, branches of the system are affected separately. i.e. you have a vlotage output discrepancy - it could affect your dash lights without initially affecting fuel system or headlights. As the problem progresses it'll move into other systems. DOes that make sense?
That's why they are so much more a pain in the ass to work on. Not as bad as VW's, but close.....

heard the same thing from another Honda owner. Will know tomorrow though as i'm "borrowing" a known good alternator from a buddy of mine............hope it fixes the probs..........
And yeah, i hear ya about goin underneath..........my brothers CRX had to go through the bottom, which i thought this one would too but it has a crossmember DIRECTLY underneath the alternator which butts up to the firewall so only choice i can see is straight up, or pull the momo...........thinkin the straight up is easier to try 1st though

changed the alternator, and still had the short...........it would run fine for a sec, then just up & die
Finally tracked the short down to the distributor..........2 lil wires that clipped to the "ignitor" unit..........cut the bad/corroded clips off, soldered them to the damn ignitor and low and behold, no more dyin
Thinkin i may have gotten a decent car for a change..........sumbitch tools right on down the road no problem well, the thermostat needs changin (heat while movin would be nice) but other than that i think we have a winner here
