Here are the latest pics of my winter project. It was 55* in Kansas City today so I took the FX on a shakedown ride. Specs are 76 FX, hand shift, foot clutch, kick start only. After the ride I had to bleed the rear brake again, adjust the clutch pedal height, repair a leak in the front master cylinder cover and reposition the mirror. It was my first ride on a jockey shift bike, and it was great. I loved it and had no problems at all. It is very easy to find neutral on a 4 speed so that helps alot. It runs good and the jetting seems to be right on, and I didn't spring any oil leaks yet so I am feeling good about the bike so far. It should be near 60* tomorrow, so if the rain holds off I will take it a little farther, I only did about 10 or 15 miles today.

in my email. Let me know if your interested in the job. If not, maybe someone here would be interested...
I'm working on a chopper project, my first, and I need a little help with my neck and stem. I had a local shop cut and rake my frame and add a custom 1.313 ID neck. I picked up neck cups and timken bearings to fit the neck from Jireh. I intend on using a girder front end that I picked up but I'm not sure of the best way to proceed. I posted the question to THBC tech forum if you want to take a look:
But here is the problem... The neck, cups and bearing are all the same size (1" ID), but the girder has a .875 (7/8) ID top tree and a 1.25
ID lower tree.
What would be the best way to tackle this? Have a stem made to fit the cups and trees, or have new trees cut that would match the neck and cups? Either way, I will probably ask you to do the job if your interested.
Thanks,
Thanks,
-BrianR

It still seems to me that you have your top and bottom mixed up?If its a 7/8 hole on the bottom tree,
It was setup for a older sporty model, using the stock
flange/damper nut on top.You keep calling the 7/8 hole the top tree.post a side view if you can.
