Bob.......i'll shott ya an E this week sometime, as i'm definately going to need some pieces made for these things. Like i said in the post below, i had brackets made for 2" solid stock, but now can't find the 2" solid anywhere close by
I was also thinking, instead of running the 2" solid all the way across the mounts, maybe doing sections of them (just enough to set my feet on maybe) and drilling the centers out for a shaft to slide through that would be allowed to pivot for the foot controls?
That may not have made any sense, i'll try to draw up my idear later. I'd take pix, but the damn junk-a-cam died for the last time the other day

Have you considered using a mechanical disk brake caliper? I know they used these back in the day. You can get them new for go-karts and mini-bikes. Then use a clutch lever. Seems easier to redrill a disk, rather than fab up a master cylinder assembly. Not sure how much of a difference in stoppping power there would be, but might be worth checking out.

....didn't think of that. I'm not to concerned with stopping power perse because its more a straight-way bike.
I have a left hand juice works for my 97 Triumph, for the hydraulic clutch. But I'd kinda like to stay away from the expense of ordering expensive replacements. And can't seem to find any salvage....
Hell I just thought about it, run mechanical line and mount master cylinder on caliper. That could work....
Damn, thanks for getting the ball rolling in my mind...

Dooshbag RUB backed out on his deal. Decided mounting a rear brake hub, timing and re-jetting was just way too hard for his "Triumph specialist", what a joke. He was afraid to touch it because it might dirty his clothes. Anyway, it's up for sale again. It's on ebay, but I would much rather sell it off ebay, and I will absolutely end the auction early. Asking $4200obo very very negotible. Trade for 1920-1957 hot rod. Here's the link:
Should have it in by Friday. I moved the cap on my '70's prism to the top of the tank, but it's right on top of the backbone so I always overfill. This corrects that issue and provides a place to set a bung for my travelin' tank- 2 gallon round tank that mounts to my handlebars, brings my capacity to almost 4 gallons.

I need to make mounts for the Windbag still, but should be able to run mounting tabs off the top of the risers then put a valve on the front of the extension. When my 1.7-gallon Prism runs dry, just open my 2-gallon reserve on the bars and keep rollin'.
My '57 is almost ready to kick over again, waiting on a hydraulic foot clutch and need to high-temp paint & install the pipes.
I'm pinstriping the scallops on the tank, sheetmetal is powdercoated but I used some metal filler (supposed to be OK with powdercoating) around the bung and it bubbled a bit.
Thanks again Bob, damn nice work.

back from Thanksgiving, I've been working on the house. The painting is finally done! Thank God! I hate painting houses. Nice thing, tho, the floor is not staying. That's the next project. . . due to start in two weeks. I'm gonna take my pistons off tonight and figure out what I've got (STD, .010 over, .020 over, etc.). Then, tomorrow, I'll take them over to old Richard at H&B's and have him bore the cylinders and order me some pistons, rings, wrist pins, and such. I saw a post by RevTramp awhile back about Keith Black Pistons. I think I make ask about those. He was doing some heavy bragging on them.
Maybe we'll both be up and running by New Years.
Later,

if you had any luck selling the bike. Ebay said you don't have anything currently listed for sale. Did you sell it? If so, congrats! I'd like to have bought it, but all I could come up with was about $3,500.

I posted both my bikes the trump and the harley for sale. Trying to pursue a hot rod project. Ebay booted both of the auctions because I mentioned the word "trade" in them. Bastards.
Anyway, I think I have a buyee for the trump. He's coming from NC to pick it up on Thursday.
I relisted the Harley on ebay, Reserve is set at 4500... and I'm taking a pretty big loss at that price. I've got near $6K invested after all the new parts. If this is the one you are interested in, I will end it early for the reserve. This is why ebay deleted the post: "I will consider trades of 1920-1957 ford mercury or GM hot rods or rat rods in drivable condition, also consider trade for running panhead".
If you are nearby, you can stop in and take a look or a ride if you are interested. I'm nearthe OSU campus.

of spacers welded in than solid bar.I wouldn't use 2"
because of the weight,But it can be drilled easy enough and if you hit a deer or a cow...you got plenty of steel to pretect you..hehheh

Think i may have the main part of these ready to mock up, using the centerstand mounts and the original front mount the old highway pegs were mounted to. Should be tacking things together tomorrow afternoon ifin everything goes smooth with changing the balljoints on my 1-ton.............
anywhos, last night while i was bending some 1/2" steel rod (using that for now in the "rough" forward setup) i got to thinking about the foot levers, and how to make them pivot/rock smoothly and not bind.............then i gots to wonderin how the hell i could make up the crossbar (where the feet will be) and having everything work nice and smooth...............any idears?
I was thinking of brass/bronze bushings, made to fit the pedal rods (that make sense?) but then started thinkin of how the hell i would keep the pedals/rods centered in one spot on the crossbar.............
then i said fug it, and came in the house
Anywhos, if you or anybody else have any ideas, i'd sure like to hear em!!

and weld a solid collar on the inside of the bar for a stop, then thread the ends for a spike nut or something to hold it all together. You'll have to figure out the spacers and all. What are you making them out of?
