I just got through getting the cylinder bored and it cleaned up at 2.734" but it still needs to be honed to fit a piston, if I ever find one, I was told on a German board for Horex's that a 350 Royal Enfield piston would work in it.
Trouble is I don't have any dealers around here and didn't find out to much searching with Google and there's noting on E-bay either.
Here's what the old piston looked like when I got it out Yuck .....
HELP !!!!!!! anybody got a dealer around or know who I can call ??????????

....not far from me, (the new ones). I could give them a call today, see if they have one and how much. I imagine since toolings the same, it would be the same specs as the old 350's. I could also give a call over to English Motors. I get a lot of stuff from them, good guys(dudes son is building some hellishly cool chops, lowkey, and spends half the year touring Europe looking for vintage bikes), they might have something.

I would appreciate it if you could/would, now I remember that the German guy said that it was the, RE 350 India, Errrr something like that, I don't know if that's like a model something like the Bullet Errrr if'n he just meant one that was built in India.
I'm thinking the last one but not real sure ???
By the By OS, just wondering if ya ever got anything done on that Rat drawing, I'm thinking of making a hand shift handle for the 64 Pan like a Rat head and thought about your drawing as a model ??

Ya may want to hold on fer a while ??
BCnT posted a link on Terry's board and I found this on that site about BMW Pistons
"R24 R25 R25/2 R25/3 Standard (67.94mm) 1st (68.44) 2nd (68.94) 3rd (69.44) 4th (69.94) over w/rings,pin,circlip.....$117 each"
And it just so happens that my bore at 2.734 is 69.443mm same as the 3rd, Also has this tid bit.
"R51 R51/2 R51/3 (1950-54) This is the same piston as the R24 R25 R25/2 R25/3 which has a compression height 0.5mm less than the stock R51 R51/2 R51/3 pistons, which with a standard size piston will slightly reduce the compression ratio from the stock 6.3 to 1 to 6.1 to 1."
I think, if I can find out more on the pin to top of piston height that I may go this rough.
I got a E-mail from a guy in Germany that has a piston he says will fit, but didn't say what it was, But he wanted 165 Euros (about $181) Plus shipping ...... AHHHHHhhaaaaaaa
Anyhow I've started chopping on that 700 Kaw I got from Mark and put the Horex on the back shelf till I figure what I'm going to do.
Hey Mark notice any difference yet ??
Me Jason and a friend of ours drove over yesterday, this is a Huge event many bikes and 100s in the parking area that were like a whole other show by themselfs! They had the Easyriders Monster truck and the three wheel pulls. The only thing was at $20 a head to get in and a hour wait to get outa the parking lot but it was somthin` to see!

It really doesn't look that bad to me, after all you will be leaning for most your turning, the only time you would move them that far is maneuvering around a parking lot under foot power, like backing up.
Of course you could always take a little off the stops if ya really think you need more ??
Just my $0.02

I prefer them not to turn at all. Unless of course the forks go with them........
Longish front ends with longish trail are better off with the lock being restricted a little, what with all that rising and falling that goes on.
But then again I don't know what youre running or indeed what lock stop set up you have.
When I'm being unsure about this I usually make a shiny stainless bit that bolts on. Then if I decide that I've fucked up I can make a longer one/ shorten it as required. Sort of making a feature out of a fuck up.......

*excellent runner, could stand to have the carbs resync'd
*42,650 miles (drivin/rode daily so mileage WILL increase)
*good tires (rear has about 1 season left on it)
*starter rebuilt
*fresh oil change
*clear plexiglass mini-fairing
*tombstone taillight
*would not HESITATE to ride this bike cross country!!
The BAD:
*baffles have been cut out (sounds damn good though)
*needs fork seals
*needs grips: foam ones are split/worn out
*needs "idler gear"......part of the starting system. Lets the starter "kick out" when trying to start, but she DOES start and has NEVER left me stranded!
Comes with a few spare pieces:
*original, stock taillight
*original stock plate mount bracket & light
*spare set of mirrors
*battery tender
*spare set of spark plugs
*clymer manual
175 Aermacchi frame Errr parts, I have this and I'm just keeping some of the small electrical part, front end and motor (maybe the motor ??)
Thought I would ask before I E-Bayed it ......

See where it says "Scan now" near the bottom of the page (I spent several minutes looking for a button first time)
It will find the Klez worm but won't clean it. If you actualy do have the thing, and it's not just spoofing your addy from another computer then go here:-
Find the virus name in the list and go to that page. I'd suggest printing the instructions out and running through them without altering anything before you do anything. Then you can refer to the instructions while your doing the thing.
Hope that helps!
