All you need is fittings and 60/40 solder, for plumbing applications. I made a mini keg into an opil tank once.... everything worked great. Mark email me if you want help.

Thanks man. I was looking through the website and I think i've found like 6 product neumbers that seem to work for my purpose....do you mind if I send you copys of the pages and see what you think. The shaft I'm putting them on is 1.125 exact, and the housing (od) is 2.125 exact.....
Posted on May 8, 2003, 9:08 AM from IP address 66.14.126.4
....I'll send it when I get it o work.....and I think the part numbers I gave you are like .36 or something, that would be fine, I'd work with it.......
Posted on May 8, 2003, 9:30 AM from IP address 66.14.126.4
....I got on Timkens website yesterday and entered in my requirements and those are the numbers they spit out.....must be a problem with data base....
Is there any way you might be able to find a number off my criteria, that will work. Shaft diameter = 1.125, neck housing = 2.125, neck housing = .5 deep....

1727 whiteford road
york pa.17402-2207
(717)755-7634

Posted on May 8, 2003, 1:03 PM from IP address 66.219.136.135
....I know the place, but didn't know they carried Timken. In fact I thought they only carried more like industrial supplies such as the less tech stuff. But that is totally cool, I will give them a shout.
You know I asked around here where I could find such things and they just shrugged and said "I dunno". I had to go a whole state away to find something in my own back yard......

...I was lookin at the Timken website and found some styles of bearings I want to find out some info on, but can't find any online catalogs or anything to work with. They're taper bearings, TS and TSF series, The TSF is my main interest. Do you happen to know where I could get some info? I need to find out a price for a 1.25 inch center diameter(1.25 diameter shaft is what its going on). I need to find a part number also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Posted on May 6, 2003, 11:35 AM from IP address 66.14.126.4
....and I was wrong the inside diameter was 1.125, my bad......I found some info on line, but not sure how accurate, so any help will still be appreciated....
I think I need part numbers - X32006X and Y32006X, but not sure...

ok, got to tinkerin with the Kawatrike today, and noticed the wire harness is all hacked up.........no biggie, figure i'll wire it chopper style
Questions are:
1. Anybody know off hand exactly WHAT pieces of the charging system should be there?
2. It has to have a battery, as it's electric start only, but how would one isolate the battery itself just for starting purposes?
3. actually, 2nd part of #2 hehe......if isolating the battery from the rest of the electrical system, would it hurt the rest of the electrics? (lights, etc)
For what it's worth, it's an '80 KZ440 twin cylinder, points momo........
I've been lookin at the HondaChopper wiring diagram a bit, and it really helps, but i have no clue what is supposed to be in the charging system (component wise), whats missing, and wtf can be done without
anybody? anybody? Buehler?

....the battery for start with out over complicating the whole shibang....there would be a lot of trial and error involved....possible but complicated....
...As far as the rest, basic alt -> batt-> coils (<-points, breaker system)-> spark -> go....if you got any sensors you can dead end them.....I think I'm missing your question though.....
...You know I'm gonna look up and what I can do about a drain circuit....that might help....
Posted on May 5, 2003, 3:41 PM from IP address 66.14.126.4
now ya lost me........i'm THINKING when ya say "drain circuit" ya mean a circuit for the extra left=over (so to speak) voltage?
Guess it really doesn't matter if the starter is included with the rest......and i was thinking of having the start switch (which is usually a push-button) be like a car ignition, turn the key and the starter ingages and starts the bike.
I dunno, just runnin different idears through the ol noggin is all

...I was referring to a separate ciruit stemming off the main ignition circuit, with a low volt "drain" off that circuit to recharge the battery. I looked though, and there really isn't a simple way to do it.....Sorry....

Now granted, she looks pretty rough as she is, and has typical off-road forks & tires, but like i said i think with the right front end and some more street friendly rear tires she may be able to be made into something
What you guys think?????
