Fit like a glove, matter of factly, I'm outside now getting ready to put that mother together, If I can figure out the stroke on that thing without my air compressor, I keep throwing the belt (Freaking Wore Out) and don't want to run to Sear right now.
Got Three Errr Four things going on outside today, The Hammer, bending some SS pipe for Nerf Bars for the 53 Chevy, cut out the bottom plate for the gas tank I'm playing with and trying to fit the sides to it, Also making some Scroll work for window shutters for the daughter.
So I sorry for not letting ya know I got it yesterday but didn't even get a chance to open it till this morning, Oh yea did I say It Fit Like A Glove !!!!

anybody know what the distance between the alternator/stator and the center magnet part is supposed to be?
My manual says nothing about it and i can't find the info anywhere......i'm thinking the parts are automatically centered when mounted correctly, but without the proper mounts......

...in most cases with that kinda thing. Learned when I was mech for money in high school, take a business card and place between units tightemn down tight, and remove card. That will usually give you good defalt.

we used to use matchbook covers, but it's the same principal.
Thinkin if i wrap the magnet part with something, then slide the stator (or whatever the hell it is lol) over that it would be darn near center. Then all i gotta do is figure out the bracket itself.
Loved that picture Ratpan (think it twas him) posted of the half-circle cover/mount. DEFINATELY goin that route i think

Most times, if you have a set of feeler gauges, It would be the brass one, Can't remember what it is but that's why they make it out of brass so it won't stick to the magnet ...

I've been playing with my hammers and e-wheel a little the past few days and thought I would throw out a few pics of my first try at this tank building stuff.
Had a hell of a time getting the curve on the top right to look like anything but tonight I finally got it to roll around like I wanted it to.
Kinda hard to see but maybe you'll get the idea, I put it up against a flat blank that I started with.
Going to be a lot of triming & rolling & beating but it may end up being fun stuff ??

that thing to use. I wish I had an English wheel. . . not that I'd have time to play with it. Keep practicing. I believe you could have a second career there.

Finally getting to put that neck tube to good use...
THANKS AGAIN!
Some of the pieces:
The bottom rails was all one piece... but I measured once and bent... ALWAYS MEASURE TWICE! ended up too long so I cut them and shortened, splice is under engine between motormounts...
The hole in the seat downtube is for the cross tube to the top rear motor mounts...
The single down tube is drilled for the tube to go through... not just welded to the side...
Decided not to go with the SUPER LONG springer... Will clean this one up and paint it for now... With the head stock raised and back bone stretch over a stock frame...
Ends up about 38 degrees and 5-6 inches trail...

...about ten minutes. I'm heading down. If my parents aren't comin up from Florida I might be able to give some place to stay. But camping down there is great too. Beautiful area, and I'd give a grand tour.
