5/16" is fine, the only thing that really matters is the ID, the rest is up to what you have to work with or anything that you think may make it a better unit !!!
Send away, I have to be up in Marysville Honda at 1 o-clock so I just stayed home this morning, I most likely won't get out of there till 5 Eeerrrr 6 tonight ........ Sucks ....... Oh and it's colder than hell here, But no snow !!!

....I have a real penchant for old aircraft especially war craft, and the Supermarine is one of my favorites as well as the Warhawk and Black Widow. So I thought the name fit pretty good.

I know little about airplanes but I was always under the impresson that the BSA Spitfire was named after the WWII fighter plane, please correct me if I`m wrong?? Mark

.don`t be selfish with the info I always wanted to know the facts on that! Also the British did have a top ranked Fighter plane named the Spitfire didn`t they? Mark

...in fact the war would have more likely been lost without it. Held German air superiority at bay, until the US came to battle. Without that the US would have had a damn near impossible ability to gain a European foothold. First arrival of the famed Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

.....let me know what you think. I would probably do it in a coated oak, with an inserted metal thread. Might seem unconventional but works great and looks good. Could do in plastic and maybe aluminum. Would you want a shaft with it?
Posted on Mar 27, 2003, 9:08 AM from IP address 66.14.126.4
either way ya wanna make it (oak, aluminum, etc) is fine by me.....just hasta stand up to alot of riding
As for a shaft, i'm gonna hold off on that just yet.....not really sure exactly how long it needs to be, or exactly where i'm gonna run the jackshaft/cross-shaft as of yet.
Is it possible to have shafts/rods made up bone shaped?
BikeWorx®
Posted on Mar 27, 2003, 8:17 PM from IP address 216.109.203.106
.....you could take a thick piece of round stock and carve out a bone shape or two pieces and shape them like a radius and ulna or something. I would say since it would need die grinded it would take a while, but could be done.
Posted on Mar 28, 2003, 9:09 AM from IP address 66.14.126.4
....got some ideas. What I'm actually doing with my shift connect rod is using one of my disassembled .44 casings and bullets and a rod of acrylic. Case shell at the back, bullet at the front.

Like i said in the E, i still hafta figure out what lug on the frame i wanna use for the jackshaft/cross-bar (this trump frame has the swingarm lug still on it....nice and thick hehe) but before i can do all that i gotta do some serious measuring and planning.
I'll be heading out to the shop in a bit (gotta change intake gaskets on my truck) but after that i am planning on working on the trump the rest of the day seein how it's nice and rainy here.......damnitall, i forgot to get sandpaper and fiberglass resin hardener!!!!!!! toss a run BACK to wally world into my plans for today too

just has "that" stance i am lookin for.....right now i just have a small cc suzuki frontend on mine with a 19" front wheel, but been thinking of maybe swapping in a narrowglide and a 21"
might look alright unraked, but i'm almost willing to bet a rake job would be needed

I found that bike in a barn(really in a stall!)with horse %^&*(&^&* all over it been apart fer years. The guy had a good title matching numbers and I was too green to try to put her together,I traded it to a running 65 Honda CB160 nice little bike, and this friend of mine sold it to the machinest!I saw it two days ago the buddy of mine just bought out a cycle shop in Milford and we were delivering that 70 Triumph to him and he showed it to me couldm`t believe he turned a $200 pile of junk into that! He has handmade alot of those parts. If I resend these to yer work can ya post, I got a couple other angles!
