| MASS GRAVES FOR TRUTH: SREBRENICA
Commemorating another anniversary without the truth or accountability of those who betrayed Srebrenica. At the United Nations, from 9 years earlier, Ambassador Sacirbey organizes first international event commemorating Srebrenica genocide, brings forth allegation of Srebrenica's betrayal and calls for whole truth. Read AP Press Report: http://europeancourier.org/197_Dont_Forget_Srebrenica_by_Mo_Sacirbey.htm
Bodies are still being unearthed. There are modest gravestones to mark the resting place of some of the victims and even a monument to remind the living. However, the truth still remains obscured, by both the perpetrators and those who were to defend Srebrenica as a United Nations and NATO safe area but betrayed it. General Ratko Mladic, the commander and architect of the genocide remains free. Those from the international community who undertook the obligation to defend but then betrayed Srebrenica are not being held accountable. Impunity not only seems the order of the day, but those who should be asked why Srebrenica was not defended are now holding new positions of power, (including Richard Holbrooke and Carl Bildt). Another question which should be asked is what are you doing about even worse situations TODAY... In Darfur over 100,000 innocent women and children are being killed every year, with a total of 400,000 people killed and 2.5 million people displaced. Yet you hardly hear a peep from the Arab/Muslim world about it and UN efforts are minimum at best. Human rights in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Burma, Egypt, and Yemen; need I explain further. Omar Bashir from Sudan has an international arrest warrent for a genocide which is still continuing non-stop yet he freely travels to Egypt for a confrence. As the saying goes "something stinks in Denmark". |

Well, I
think that whats happening is that genocide is being instrumentalized by the
biggest power on the earth today, which is the United States. It is being
instrumentalized in a way that mass slaughters, which implicate its adversaries, are
being named as genocide, and those, which implicate its friends or its proxies,
are not being named as genocide.
Though the Save Darfur PR campaign employs viral marketing techniques, reaching out to college students, even to black bloggers, it is not a grassroots affair, as were the movement against apartheid and in support of African liberation movements in South Africa, Namibia, Angola and Mozambique a generation ago. Top heavy with evangelical Christians who preach the coming war for the end of the world, and with elements known for their uncritical support of Israeli rejectionism in the Middle East, the Save Darfur movement is clearly an establishment affair, a propaganda campaign that spends millions of dollars each month to manufacture consent for US military intervention in Africa under the cloak of stopping or preventing genocide.
P.S.
In 2006, I began to get the backdrop when the GAO [United States Government Accountability Office] found that the mortality estimates of the Save Darfur movement of 400,000 deaths were the least reliable, because it took figures from an unrepresentative sample, while the most reliable figure came from the World Health Organisation, which said about 112,000 people had died.
When reading the reports, I realised that those who died had not necessarily been killed. The major cause of death was drought and desertification, which killed between 70,000 and 80,000 people, mainly children, while only about 35,000 people did of violence. There was a gap between what was made public and what was happening on the ground. The Save Darfur publicity was simply about violence. Nothing told you why the violence was happening.

Very true. What are you doing about even worse situations TODAY?
If United States and Israel don't arm groups in Darfur from Eritrea(due to Sudan's good relations with China), there will be less victims caused by them. If United States and Israel(including all Jews) spend the money of "Darfur's Advertisement"(to shade Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon...and so on) for Darfur's development, there will be a better place for everyone without any war. Except for the Turkish Red Crescent, all the aid foundations, including UN, are working as Catholic and Evangelical missionaires in the region. United States, IMF and World Bank all together helped only $2 B for Sudan while only China helped $8 M and mostly for the water, not oil.
What about Congo, Rwanda, Somalia? All the same scenarios. Africa could have been a much more peaceful continent if it hadn't been for the North Atlanic intervention. |

Well a better suggestion would be that INSTEAD of blaming the Western World for ALL of you'r problems, how about actually trying to offer a solution to these situations. There were people who turned a blind eye, made excuses, and simply ignored Hitlers actions and before they knew it, it cost the world 60 million of it's people.
The UN, African Union, international relief, neighbouring nations, satillite images, videos, not to mention countless witness accounts tell a totally different story then what your preaching. And what would you call Sudanese planes bombing villages and armed Janjaweed militiamen (armed by Sudan) attacking and rapeing tens of thousands of women and children?, a loving innocent goverment but are just all victims of the CIA?. The UN last year, the AU (present in Darfur), and inbternational aid groups (all until recently present in Darfur) even stated that the casualty rate in Darfur may be 50% higher than previously thought. Refugee camps in Chad alone are holding over 200,000 people forced out of Darfur, and with Omar al Bashir condemned as a war crimminal and can freely travel to certain countires in open arms simply show the double standards among certain individuals and countries.
oh, and we haven't even gotten into the issues surrounding Pakistan, Burma, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Yemen.

In the world; only Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway give anything near 1% of their GDP for foreighn aid. If everyother country did likewise things WOULD be different.
Which "groups" are those? The Janjaweed raping countless women and children backed by the Sudanese Air Force are running amuke, 200,000 Darfurian refugees in Chad are still under attack from Janjaweed factions and Sudanese military raids. I wish countries WOULD support the Darfurians, sending peacekeepers and/or diplomatic intervention making way for Darfurian self-determination is an international right, certainly worked for The autonomous (soon to vote for full independence) Southern Sudan which saw the end of a brutal racial-religion war. In the Middle East Israel by far has put the most efforts in putting forth assistance in world humanitarian crisis's. If only Saudi Arabia would give only mere pennies of its wealth it could give everyone in the African conflict zones a 1000 SQM house with all necesscities and luxuries, but they simply choose to carry out and cover up human rights abuses and giving 20,000 select individuals unlimited incomes. Each one of these individuals have access to more capital than the entire economy of Israel. China has its own interests as well providing the arms, defying arms treaties which is indiretly funding the genocide, that's why they are blocking UN investigation efforts because they know they will openly reveal the oil for arms/diplomatic support agreements.
Africa contrary suffers from a LACK OF international intervention economically, politically, and support. The designated African Union is simply incapable of handeling all these problems. Had there been ANY international intervention in Rawanda and Congo it could have contained the fighting like in the Gulf War. The West is always solving everyone's problems but when is the Arab leauge, and other parts of the world gona step up? When the worlds in trouble who do they ALWAYS turn to, Bangladesh?

Sudan has a geo-political importance. Even Sudan's capital Hortum(Hartum was given by Brits) was founded by Turks(Hortum means "hose" in Turkish and given with regard to twists of Nile river). It's all about Sudan's co-operation with China and India against "Chevron" which had all the concessions of Southern Sudanese oil. Every country reacts if some groups are trying to seperate a nation by Western support. Most Janjaweeds act independently from government. There were not a discrimination as "Arab" or "African" in Darfur. They're all black as well as all are Muslim. West caused a fit between nomads and settled farmers. Problems have grown after international powers have come to the region and leaped through Chad and Niger. Borders of African nations are results of the Western colonization. Counting most of them don't have a nationalizing period, it's easy to sow discord away towards benefits. What has changed positively since the so-called peace-keepers have come?
"World Vision" is one of the best examples: http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2DoChildSearch.jsp?
When you would like to choose a country, you will only find Albania and Armenia among Europe and Middle East, but not Moldova where is much poorer for example. It's all about missionary. No matter how Americanization is recent for Albanians, evangelical proceedings have been active for Armenians since even Ottoman era. I'm not against their help. I'm against their discrimination and aid only in return for apostasy which shows they are not rightminded. On the other hand, Turkish Red Cresent treats 400 patients per day. If 10 countries did the same, it would make 4,000 patients. One can already see Turkey's efforts by the sympathy of Sudanese people toward Turkey.
I suppose you mean only DAC countries who are usually criticized with stinginess. Between 1975 to 1987, Saudi developmental aid amounted to US$48 billion, second only to the United States of America. The ODA/GNP ratio averaged 4.2% over this period, well above the highest amount provided by Development Assistance Committee countries (the DAC average is 0.35%). The figure has also made it one of the most generous donor nations on a per-capita basis. Yet Arab's personal stinginess is obvious but that's an another issue. So let's see the percentage of arm exports except for the UN security council's five permanent members: Netherlands: %16, Sweden: %8, Norway-Denmark: %2
I mean rebellious groups who get money and arms from United States and Israel via Eritrea who also declared it's independence owing to the same countries. Rebels in Darfur even founded an Israeli agency to show their gratefulness. Even their own men oppose that. Existence of Israel is already proof of there is something going bad. People who don't know even Sudan, know Darfur. Even super-silly-stars of Hollywood are speaking of Darfur. As I've said, if United States and Israel(including all Jews) spend the money of "Darfur's Advertisement"(to shade their crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon...and so on) for Darfur's development, there will be a better place for everyone without any war.

Incorrect, armed civil conflicts have plauged Sudan (pluse the Nile regions) for thousands of years, as ALWAYS one ethnic-religion-tribe claims superiority over the others in any system of rule. This conflict alone goes back as early as 1955 with Sudans independence and the Northern region claiming rule over all the other semi-autonomous territories, hence begining a brutal civil war resulting with 1.9 million deaths. The Darfur conflict initially begun in the 70's with severe economic and humanitarian mismanagement on Khartoums Part resulting in a mass famine in Darfur. Ethnic-Tribal conflicts arised as Khartoum supported Arab tribes "Janjaweed" over non-Arabs and both directly and indirectly armed and assisted Janjaweed massacuring, and destroying non-Arab populations, and villages. This is also why Sudan first divided Darfur into several parts within Sudan to keep non-Arabs from forming a majority in any part of it, and the Sudanese Airforce has destroyed numerous non-Arab villages. China has dealings with all parts of the wider Sudan region on both sides, but will not push to stop the genocide, money always comes on top in such things. There have never been peace-keepers, and the African Union is simply incapable to handel such a situation, although certainly worked numerously in the past and if it will reduce deaths then the world needs to respond timely.
Everyone does their part, initially 13 aid groups operating in Darfur including MSF-Greece provided aid and services to 1.5 million people in refugee camps, at least that was until Sudan expelled all aid groups from operating in Darfur, what country does that to its own people? Saudi Arabia "aid" as well is missionary based, as much of it goes to funding religious institutions, and promoting Wahhabism in other countries. In the 1982-83 period the receivers of Saudi Aid in Asia were nations like Pakistan, Indonesia, Yemen, Turkey, and Malaysia and many of these countries today are facing these problems. Israel instead has developed one of the quickest responding aid distribution in the world as it's usually one of the first nations to provide aid in any natural disaster this has been seen now in Taiwan. ZAKA first-response teams were dispatched to Turkey during the Izmit eartyquake. Two Turkish families were so grateful that one named its newborn son Israel and the other named its newborn daughter Ziona. Israel also invented extremly effective water desallination technology which could've provided fresh water in places of extreme drought, the UAE was in need of them but rejected it once learning it was Israeli.
"I mean rebellious groups who get money and arms from United States and Israel via Eritrea who also declared it's independence owing to the same countries"
Makes absolutly no sense in so many ways. Oh btw, even Sudan claims non-Arabs are supported by Chad hence why the Janjaweed regularly raids refugee camps within Chad.
"Rebels in Darfur even founded an Israeli agency to show their gratefulness"
and were would this be done in? refugee camps in Chad or Sudanese Air bombed and deserted villages? Be realistic, show some responsible journalism.
"Existence of Israel is already proof of there is something going bad"
Well to be fair Israel did except 10,000 Darfurian refugees (men, women, and children) to be sheltered from the genocide, so according to you this is one of those "something going bad" times.
"People who don't know even Sudan, know Darfur. Even super-silly-stars of Hollywood are speaking of Darfur"
Well not everybody at that time Knew about the tiny country of Rwanda, now everybody knows just for that reason.
"As I've said, if United States and Israel(including all Jews) spend the money of "Darfur's Advertisement"(to shade their crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon...and so on) for Darfur's development, there will be a better place for everyone without any war"
If PEOPLE don't and didn't speak out, and tackle issues especially something like genocide then you'll have plenty of wars forever. The Western World is always the primary one to do anything about such things and bring any type of result (it obviously could do much more, but that's another point), when someone is in trouble who do they ALWAYS call on? If the Arab leauge, and China wanted to they could have very easily pressured Sudan to stop the genocide and the Janjaweed but other interests come first for them. They did, primarily Western Based aid groups were the only source of support for the Darfurians for years, that was until Sudan expelled them all, and now 100,000 Darfurians are killed each year. World Charities and aid groups (the largest ones western based), and private donations (huge amounts from Western nations and ALL peoples) total $122 billion each year but can't distribute there thanks to Sudan. Oh and what "crimes" are those? and what is anyone else doing to help stabilize the region? Maybe if Turkey gave more rights to Kurds and acknowledged its wrongdoings towards Armenians and others it could help limit a number of the issues facing the region. |

Bosnian Serb Milan Lukic burned Muslims alive in houses
Two Bosnian Serb cousins, Milan and Sredoje Lukic, have been jailed for locking more than 100 Muslims in two houses and burning them alive.
UN war crimes tribunal judge Patrick Robinson said the deaths in the eastern Bosnian town of Visegrad in 1992 "exemplified the worst acts of inhumanity that one person may inflict on others."
Mr Robinson said Milan Lukic was the ringleader in both incidents, helping herd victims into the houses, setting the fires and shooting those who fled the flames. The judgment said his cousin Sredoje Lukic aided and abetted in one of the blazes. Their victims ranged from two days old to 75.
Witnesses recalled hearing the terrible screams after Milan Lukic used the butt of his rifle to force people into the house, saying, Come on, lets get as many people inside as possible.
He sentenced Milan Lukic to life in prison and Sredoje Lukic to 30 years.
Mr Robinson, a veteran judge at the tribunal that has prosecuted Balkan war crimes for 15 years, said: "In the all-too-long, sad and wretched history of man's inhumanity to man, the Pionirska street and Bikavac fires must rank high."
Prosecutors seeking to clear the court's docket had asked for the case to be handed to a Bosnian court because the cousins were relatively low-ranking suspects. But tribunal judges refused, saying the allegations were so serious they should be handled in The Hague.
Dika Osmo, a member of a war victims' group in Bosnia, said the life sentence was not enough. She added: "I could not have imagined that a human being like this could be born, could exist at all. This is someone who killed a two-day-old baby."
Milan Lukic was also convicted of murdering 12 other Muslims, shooting them in the back on the banks of the Drina River, which runs through Visegrad, so the current would sweep their bodies away.
Robinson said Milan Lukic "ignored the victims' pleas for their lives," as he and other Serb paramilitaries executed them with a single shot in the back before firing into the bodies of any men they believed were still alive.
One man was murdered in front of his wife and child. Two men survived by playing dead, and testified about their ordeal.
Milan Lukic led a paramilitary group known both as the "White Eagles" and the "Avengers," which terrorised Muslims in Visegrad. His cousin Sredoje was a local policeman and a member of the group.
Both also were convicted of cruelty for visiting a detention centre to savagely beat Muslim inmates.
Milan Lukic was arrested in 2005 in Argentina and sent for trial in The Hague. His cousin surrendered to Bosnian Serb authorities and was transferred to The Hague a few weeks later.

There were not a discrimination as "Arab" or "African" in Darfur, they're ALL black. West caused a fit between nomads and settled farmers. If the variety of customs, languages, and traditions among people discriminate them in such a place like Africa, then Nigeria has almost 400 ethnic groups. But I think survival does make more sense.
Greece does not relieve, but rather receive funds for corruption. What else can be expected from a nation who mutilate helpless people before being thrown into the sea so that they will watch their deaths for fun? Turkish Red Cresent is based in Nyala/Darfur. Likewise TRC in Pakistan is the best humanitarian organization and even it is the only organization called by the Pakistani government. It has 24 hours strict security against organ trafficking run by Western groups and nobody is allowed into camps from outside. Everybody is called by their names one by one and small gardens were cultivated in front of tents. People don't pile on at mealtime and everybody is distributed food at the same. The only queue occurs at the gate of the Turkish camp. They are working so perfectly that even other camps are offering to hand over the organization to TRC. Red Cross has also helicopters but only Turkish aid teams reach to highlands on mules because they are not there for the advertisement.
They are only political-religious congregations in Turkey who receive aid "unofficialy" from the Saudi and Iranian governments. Thanks to Israel for being 81th country who sent rescue team in 1999 disaster for saving its 20 citizens in Çinarcik. Yet it cannot be said so generous considering only Egypt's contributions such as: 250 person rescue team, 140 bed capacity two fully equipped sahara hospital, 1 health clinic, 30 doctors, 5 ambulances, 500 person tent camp, 6 ovens which have 30,000 bread production capacity per a day, 6 generators, 6 ton decontamination material, 10 ton various medicine...and so on. The Israeli government has also rejected a Turkish offer to build an almost 1 billion dollar medical facility in Israel, which, if realized, could have boosted peace prospects between Israel and Palestinians.
Has the Israeli company offered without any financial payoff? I don't think so. UAE is one of the many Arab countries that rejects passports from Israel.
If your neighbour backs up your child when he does something wrong, he goes and stays at your neighbour.
Just look at the exact reason behind it.
Plenty of wars are not solved with shallow talkings. You are NOT what you SAY, you are what you DO. It also depends on where those aids go about. Mosques, Hindu and Sikh temples are all in one place in Calcutta. Even Malays, Chinese and Indians live all together without a hitch in Malaysia. War is the war of the local rich caused by the West.
Again, this post is about The Srebrenica Massacre so stick to the text and don't stick out each post like chewing gum.

That's only according to YOU. Not even the Sudanese government denies the statistics. The Arab Abbala, Rizeigat and Baggara tribes on one side of Darfur and the other the non-Arab muslim Fur, Zaghawa, and Masalit groups. Noone has denied that the Arabic Janjaweed has been aiming to genocide the non-arabs of Darfur, although Sudan denies supporting them (although the EVIDENCE overwhelmingly shows the opposite). It's interesting how the double standards have been exposed by your comments; when a journalist makes a claim against a country (non-Muslim) then its 100% fact even without ANY evidence, but when it's a claim against a Muslim country then it HAS to be propaganda according to you. Even when now 400,000 innocent human beings have been killed, and 2.5 million displaced but according to you they never even existed. And again the typical responce is conspiracy with no evidence to support it.
Say's who YOU? I'm only talking about what the world humanitarian organizations say and who's involved with who and where. And the Sudanese government itself publically announced the expullsions. Or wait they are all lying right? or is it another Western conspiracy according to you?
But according to YOU the pressence of the West is a "something going bad" thing. Why? did the West cause the 1999 earthquake now? the Western world have together sent by far the quickest, most, and effective aid and rescue operations worldwide after natural disasters. When the world is in trouble who do they ALWAYS turn to? oh and not to overlook the contributions from Greece in 1999.
But when a country is suffering from something as serious as drought and that could be prevented but the country chooses let their water supplies run dry soly because of the country of origin the technology was invented!!! Don't know about UAE but Israel accepts every type of passport.
Then you would agree that international peacekeepers and giving the Darfurians self-determination is the only realistic solution (action not words); just like Bosnia (don't see you complaining about that).
well hey, unless you want to play the role of the world thought police then you will have to accept critical analysis and overview, and there is certainly no lack of times that you've done similar in the past (although in Greek forum I've never deleted or locked a post based on this). |

West caused a fit between nomads and settled farmers due to Sudanese oil. Problems have grown after international powers have come to the region and leaped through Chad and Niger. They had been supported once but most Janjaweeds currently act independently from the government. There must be consistent solutions which should be discussed instead of more wars. I have supported territorial integrity of Serbia and Georgia as well and that doesn't mean I am an Orthodox favorer. Seperations always cause much more problems. In the event of seperation from Sudan, the war in Darfur will turn to ethnic-cleanising of the people who are labelled as Arabs which is going to cause much more people's death apart from 400,000. But as long as YOUR LEAGUE supports for the other team, it's an expected result which should happen accordingly. It's a just game for you afterall, isn't it?
Hundreds of people, 60 of whom are children, are being raped in South Africa every day. Of course not even a single Western authority cares about that since rich resources of a country are already being exploited by Dutch and British people whose GDP per capita is as high as Canada while Black GDP per capita is as low as Congo.
True Help is so different from the advertisement. By the way, Greece was only a transit country for the European contributions which were not accepted in 1999.
No matter how it's no longer valid, innovative environment was provided by the colonial order in Europe. No one is inferior than the other. You have to tell this to the Arab League, it's not my business. But I would probably do the same if there were an ongoing massacre toward my own people. By the way, Israel does NOT accept anything from Lebanon, Syria and Iran.
What about Congo, Rwanda, Somalia? Divide et Impera! All the same scenarios. Cause a fit between people and then send your troops. Nothing brings back dead people or the lost time as in Iran-Iraq war.
Then you are to open a new title. It's not a random message board. | |
