In the city I would recomend Kangaroo Point thats good because you have all opptions to the city , Buses every 15min , & your just out side the city ,etc .
But if you miss the PNG connection or Islanders , Roachdale is the Place . To meet & greet PNG Casablanca is the Place .

we often stay there whenever we are visiting Brisvegas. We also like Spring Hill. But the nicest spot is K/point.
My family also love the spot because the kids love the ferry rides.
Whilst others have suggested a few spots to live, anywhere on the outskirt of Brisvegas is great as there are public transport everywhere. Oxley/Graceville is another great place to live. There are also some PNG families living around that area. For a cheaper area to live, Darra is probably your best bet as its right there where to train station is, the supermarkets and fruit and vegetables shops there sells most PNG food, such as taro, greens, fish, tinned fish, corned beef and the likes. Grocery shopping there is excellent as well. Darra is mostly a Vietnamese community and they are the friendliest people I have come across.
