As I am pretty sure bears, bobcats, cougars, foxes, squirrels, deer, and every other mammal I can think of, do not migrate.
Birds migrate.
I think this is a fable started by tree huggers who read other tree hugger Internet postings for information.
Searching for food is a different story. All critters have a range where they forage. Some ranges are bigger than others, depending on the critter.
The only time a mammal would "migrate" is if their range was depleted of food sources. Like a forest fire / deforesting.....what have you. And even then they would only move to the next closest area where they could forage out a living, and establish a new "range".
