I was looking at foot structure and while some animals have thick pads that make their feet appear to be flat, basically all the ones I looked at (bears, elephants, hippos, deer, mountain goats, etc) have some form of internal arch or toe walking, not true "flat feet." If you have actual flat feet/mid tarsal break, your calf muscles become very inefficient, because the foot is mush. I mean, does the Corvette have push rods made out of plastic? Meldrum's speculation about it being an advantage in the mountains is, imo, a steaming pile.
