If the bigfoot prove to be more "human-like" than not (especially the ones depicted and killed) in the P-G Film [ and based on what I have personally witnessed]; "hide" would not be the correct terminology. It would be akin to skinning a "modern human" being but harier. This would be very dehumanizing and morally unethical (not much different than Hitler's men skinning Jew's in WWII).
However, I am aware that some creatures that are "bigfoot-like" in nature present more animalistic traits similar to those of great apes and other simians. De-skinning one of these creatures may be taking "a hide". I don't know.
