I agree ...Hell..I prefer to hunt in cooler weather and at night...I know what you are saying about the locating calls at dusk and dawn...It just surprised me at how much hunting they are doing and how many curiosity visits that I get in the hottest part of the day...The dreadlock and pic's do not prove anything. It is going to take the tailgate test and the only way that it is going to happen is, like Timber said, to pay your dues and get in the woods ( hot/cold, night/day) and a whole lot of praying.....One quick story for your reader ...I moved my houseboat into a very remote area for about a month (2 mo. ago). There is a large gator that rules this stretch of creek and slews. I watched his actions and reactions when other gators and boats came around. One day in the heat of the day this gator had been laying next to me for a couple of hours ( 10ft from my boat) when all of a sudden he raises up high in the water (he would get low in the water when other boats start up the creek) and swims very fast to a wide part of the creek about 50yrds away. This was the first time that I had seen him act this way. A couple of min,s later the woods went quiet and that stench hit me and I damn near threw up . Now I did not see anything this time but there is no mistaking that smell. That gator knew that they were moving and wanted nothing to do with them..
