I don't think so Matt. We have them here too but they don't chew off bark at the base of a large tree like that. Only in the tops or on young trees where the bark is tender. That bark was scraped off not chewed. There's nothing in the northern areas that would do that so it has to be a hog...or a kid with a new hatchet. lol We don't have hogs here and it looks to be a good thing. It appears they can do a lot of damage to just about everything.
