So...the howls in the distance weren't yotes? Hmmm...very interesting because they sounded exactly like that East Texas Panther cry we (first husband and I) heard back in 1972 or 73 while staying the weekend with relatives of our best friend. The friend's grandfather told us, when similar howls woke us up around 2-3 a.m., "it's just a little ole East Texas panther. Don't get skeered." Let me tell you, those howls were in the woods not 30 yards behind the old guy's farm house and we were sleeping with the windows wide open...Something could easily have walked up and looked in our open bedroom window...Panthers my butt!!!
Thanks for putting the sounds up. In the immortal words of those-who-shall-not-be-mentioned...the land where you and Nessa were looked very "squatchy." (LOL)
keep calm and carry on
