Saturday night I did some thermal scanning in an area that hosted several reports over the years and have been posted with the group! It rained like all get go all night and everything was laying pretty much, but a previous post got me thinking about these animals moving in stormy weather, so I headed out to have a look see!
Didn't find much at all but had a very unusual thermal hit that I cant explain!
I was slow rolling from my truck hitting an area of about twenty years before it came to a large bayou. I had small animal hits at various places, but I suddenly got a very hot, thermal image on the ground of something large and it was moving slowly. The thermal I have as Monster, Timber, Grumpy all know, displays the actual hit as being further away and smaller that it actually was! This was fairly long, a clear hot image, moving slowly along the ground. I backed up and got it back in focus and shinned the area with my lights and flashlight, which are very bright. NOTHING! I got out and walked the swampy area as best I could in the rain and lightning, still nothing! Nothing that would leave a heat signature or anything like that!
The image was long and low to the ground kinda like an alligator, but I would have seen the tail and legs and profile in the thermal. This was solid with no limbs, just slow moving along the ground while I watched it!
