OK I was gonna leave this alone but just can't. As most of you can figure out if I can look through a camera lens at these creatures I can also look through a rifle scope at them and have on more than one occasion.
I have to say this....What right do we have to kill one of these creatures just to prove its existance? The human race tends to destroy everything it touches, especially things it doesn't understand. I have a saying " Just because you can doesn't mean you should." I enjoy having these animals here and I wouldn't want that to change. On the flip side of that I also like having my livestock and possessions staying alive and in one piece. I have a strong hunch that if I were to kill one of these animals here that would cease to be the case. I do believe they are smart enough to know who pulled the trigger or who was involved in killing one. I also have a very strong aversion to killing something I'm not going to eat (except coyotes) and I don't know about ya'll but I've never seen a recipe for BF steaks. A few years ago I was all for taking one off this place simply because I was able to do something that most people were unable to. I was able to watch them and get pictures, not great pics, but better pics. Then, when I stopped carrying a camera they became bolder about showing themselves. I've learned alot in 10 years, I know what their habits are, what they eat, how they communicate, a bit about their mating habits, their social structure and a host of other things. I have literally watched the toddlers of 10 years ago grow to adulthood and have offspring themselves.
In my humble opinion, these creatures are a part of this land and have the right to live here unmolested by humankind. I'm aware not everyone feels that way and I have probably stirred the pot in a big way. But that's my 2 cents worth.
