First of all, just because 90,000 people have jobs that have something to do with the F-22 doesn't mean they're fired if it is canned. If they are worth their salt they will be working on some other military or non-military hardware or software. This is one of the propaganda/scare tactics that the military-industrial complex employs to keep themselves feeding on the government teat. (Just ask Ike Eisenhower, he saw this coming a long time ago.)
Second, jobs lost should not be part of the rationale for keeping a production program.
Smacks of socialism. Should we bail out Detroit just to save all those auto industry jobs?
By the way, do you think it's just an accident that the F-22 is manufactured and assembled in several different states? That way more Senators and Congressmen have a vested interest in keeping the program afloat to soothe their constituents. Oh so clever.....
