most people dont realize how small some bands of indians were, even back in the early 1800's. it could be entirely possible for a band of indians of a small tribe to live very well into the 1960's. i can drive 45 minutes from Tulsa and find elderly Cherokee families that dont speak english.

Ishi was alive well till 1915/16.

it would mean NOTHING to a Fortune 500 company to "off" a band of indigenous peoples ( say 20-30)in a rural area. it would be a day project.

locate, iradicate. move on to the next job.
