You'd think the flooding we are having in the upper Manatee River watershed would push the monsters toward higher ground and therefore make them come out of their low swampy areas(and hence easier to find). Spent all day today going around to all my areas to check for tracks, signs of moving, sounds of communications. Saw bunches of small critters fleeing the flooding, but not one sign of any monsters. Clouds and rain made it cooler but harder to hear much, Torrential rains made it hard to see many tracks of any critters. Still, it's hard to get through much of the dense jungle and undergrowth so I was hoping the flooding would provide an opportunity to condense them to higher ground, and there,s not much of that in this area. It's been a while since any reports or sightings have occurred in my general area, may have to try a new area, further south towards Big Cypress. |
