PNG is such a diverse country, even more diverse in languages. With diverse languages spoken everyday, imagine at many occassions you would have difficulty trying to tell some words that are pronounce. Okay, a father in a remote part of estern highlands had his only son working for a company in Port Moresby. He did not hear from his son since he went to POM.
One day, he decided to come to the town and call his son. His son's name is Richard. The man went to the public phone, insert the coin and started calling. The secretary of the company took the phone and says, hello..how can I help you. The man replied Iam calling from Goroka and I want to talk to 'Lidzad', the secretary on the other end could not get what the man was saying, says come again..man, I want to talk to 'Lidzad'..geee, the lady was even more confused..says, is 'Lidzad a reptile or a human'..what the man pronounce sounded Lizard not Richard.
Toking PNG style..
