Yes, it is for real. Each team selected one player to represent their team as an All-Star to ensure that there was full inclusion, since it is a League All-Star team. The All-Star team will be selecting a Tournament to attend in the USA and the Coaching Staff will round out the roster with "coaches choices", much the same as what happens in Pro Leagues. As for "missing" players, that is a matter of opinion and a never ending debate no matter what team it is, so there is really no point in getting into it as it only devalues the people who were selected to the team and I would rather not do that.
