That Amb. Morgenthau's information was all second hand, and when British arrested 200 Ottoman Officers and moved 60 of them to Malta for Nuremberg style trial, Morgenthau's memoirs were not acceptable proof of alleged Armenian Genocide. British looked two years for some proof to use in that trial, and dismissed the case for lack of any evidence.
