This category is dedicated to the art of enamelling, as found on the magnificent dials of Ulysse Nardin watches. UN is using enamel in two ways:

Either plain enamel paint in several layers, atop a delicate guilloche metal base. This draws its effect from the light reflections of the guilloche pattern and the the transparence of the enamel colour;

or the famous cloisonné enamel, where enamel paint is filled into small cells made of thin gold wire. Here the enamel is used to form a pictorial scene.

Many "San Marco" watches feature dials that have been made on specific order, according to a template supplied by the customer. These are wonderful one-of-a-kind pieces, and I would be very happy, if their owners share them with us here.

The piece was made on special order for one of Dave Piccione's customers. This gentleman delivered a design he had ordered from an artist, showing animals that are specifically important for his daughter and him.
