But they looked like they were silver, especially on photo. In fact they were made of a white reflective material like Scotchbrite. The Ford stripe on the side was too. My source is a french magazine from 1966 which described the cars as they passed inspection before the race but you will read about it too in some of the good books about Shelby and Ford GTs.
