I just wanted to say that over the years I have built models from most of the main manufacturers and the one that made my toes curl without fail was Revell.
If it wasn't for the daft end opening box, it was dodgy engineering and a really toy like look to the model when finished due to poor proportions (usually wheels being too small).
However, having had a bit of burn out over a few Dragon mega kits in their new armour range I dug out a couple of Revell cheapies and thought what the hell if I stuff them up.
Anyway, The two kits I started are the 2000 focus WRC and the Lancia Stratos. Botrh of which are, I believe Hasagawa repops. But what has really converted me is the decals. The Focus in particular has some really awkward decals around the rear quarter and these just went down beautifully with the added help of some solvaset they are pretty much spot on.
I am just going to have to try a few others me thinks.... (like I don't have a big enough stash of Tamigawa cars!)
