I paid 100 U.S. Dollars for a 1966 Chapparal 2e can=am car.It was the first resin kit i have ever ordered.I get the kit in the mail and open it up First I notice that the cockpit seat insert is missing.....Then I notice that the wheels are so much smaller than the tires that they fall right on through....So I find the e-mail they sent me when they mailed the kit...I try to reply to the E-mail explaining the problem....The e-mail comes back and says it's undeliverable....This is about as pathetic as it gets and I hope to help put this Rip-off artist out of buisness for good
to the world of cottage industry model kits. I am afraid that you wil not get the shake and bake type of modelling that Tamiya, etc provide. To make the wheels fit, try gluing a thin strip of plastic card around the circumference of the wheel. I had to do this with the Fisher D type. With a bit of care and a bit of thought, these models can turn out beautifully.
Try sending the email request for replacement parts again. It could be something simple such as a full mailbox.
Paul Fisher is not a fly-by-night trader and with his current catalogue and demand for his product, I doubt that you throwing your teddy out of the pram will put him out of business.
Fisher is among the best resin casters I have dealt with. A resin kit is usually much more involved than a standard plastic kit. I'm not sure what you do for a living but I suspect you make the odd mistake. Should you get fired the first time you make an error? I would try sending another email before you condemn them and/or a phone call.
I sent Paul a second E-mail....It also bounced back as undeliverable...said something about his spam filter rejecting it...A spam filter that prevents one's customers from repling?....Brilliant!
Paul say's he will ship missing piece and send a new set of wheels.I forgot to ask him about why I could not reply to his e-mail.Hopfully he will get that issue resolved to avoid similar problems in the future.
and I don't know why your email bonced, but, one thing I can assure you, Paul is one of the good guys. He will make it right. I have seen Paul go WAY above and beyond what is expected. Your assertations of "rip off artist" are a bit harsh and premature.
Re: I'd be SHOCKED if Paul doesn't respond to this,

Ditto....have a number of Fisher kits...no issues. BUT..I have marketed resin kits myself and errors can happen in a one man shop. I try contacting him again.
I back up Paul. As long as you are a gentleman you will...

get top notch help from one of the best resin guys in the business. Please stay patient and talk with him person to person. You will find Paul very easy to work with and you might find something in common with your like of this kit. If you stay civil you might strike up a friendship and hook up at a Nationals or something. Maybe even help him with some research to get a better product out. The key is staying civil and helping. The return will be 2 fold.
I have to put my spam filter on high. I try to catch who I can in my address book but every now and then it gets someone I didn't want it to. But the option is wading through over 100 spam emails a day!
Dear Neil,
I do not know why, but the spam filtering at Innuity.net who host my website is a constant source of trouble for me, the issue is yet to be resolved, but I am in on-going talks with them to stop filtering my mail for just this sort of thing.
The problem can be easily dealt with , please remember that before we had e-mail, we did indeed have the telephone, and if you would call me before calling my integrity into question in so nasty a manner it would go alot better for both of us.
In 30 years of creating and manufacturing kits for sale one is boud to stumble occasionally, and you have my apologies , but do please try to do more than just tap a few lines on a keyboard before slinging mud like this.
Happy New Year to all, and thanks to Mike B for alerting me to this problem.

Given the superlative ratings present in my own modeling circles, and on this forum, I would take it for granted that Mr Fischer is telling the truth.
I work in IT and a lot of organizations have to have a very unenviable (and unwanted) job that essentially acts as a spam cop. I have a friend who lives eats sleeps and dreams about computers 24x7.... we have him in treatment for the problem... who got into the position of trying to block spam at a major manufacturer.
He was the most junior network guy, so he got stuck... he spent almost full time on the job, and still couldn't always beat it. He finally transferred to another facility to get out of the role at the corporate G.O.
I know in our organization the guy who has the job gets aggravated with the non stop assualt of it...Adjust the filter to block key words one way and it cuts out essential email by the bucket full... .
Remove the keyword from the banned list, and sometimes, literally, users have to delete a dozen or more screens full of spam....much of it from the seedier side of the web...
Add an Internet Hosting site to the mix, and you're managing communications with an additional layer.
I believe Mr Fisher's account...
Now for my own thoughts... (oh no)
I personally favor an automotive coil built into each computer that charges when the computer runs, and discharges through the keyboard when anybody launches more that 50 emails at a time...... or a shock collar... =:-o
sorry... sometimes the redneck bubbles to the top and I just gotta let it out!
