Making Louvers?

Hi,
Does anyone have any good tips on making raised louvers, like would go on hot rod hoods or older Indy race cars.

In plastic?...Don't know.........For metal (brass, aluminum, copper sheet)

buy, borrow, a copy of Gerald Wingrove's "The Complete Car Modeler"..........This is a great reference book for modelers....While about cars, his techniques can be utilized in most of our applications..(Great scratch building "how to's")...ANYWAY, he cover making louvers in hoods, bodies, etc......"Think" punch and die......A metal punch with the  louver size and shape...Then a "female" deperession form....the female form can be wood, certainly for short run louvers.....

 

Amazon has copy @ $18.96USD.........Not bad..

Model Rail Road shops have siding for buildings....

...in different scales and sizes. I have used it before on race cars, works great.
