Can anyone tell me what year the model of the Wrecker Truck from Revell/mono is designed after? I am also trying to find the era as well for the gas station kit that came out from MRC. Anyone know the time period? I am looking at a diorama idea but not sure if the truck would fit the station or if I need older vehicles.

They pretty much build them until obsolete or outmoded. That kit came out in the mid-late 80s so I'd go with that. Now to be sure, ask the same question at this site-these guys know everything.

Actually they do have them as years like cars do, with different years having different options to a point and degree. As for an answer to this particular question I'm not sure. Writing to Scale Auto Magazine's "Truck Stop" columnist, might net the exact answer you are looking for. He seems to be fairly knowledgable about such things, and if he doesn't have the answer he can probably get it for you.

The big Peterbuilt wrecker is a current vehicle. It is run by a local towing company near where I live. The basic pete is an older (70s?) truck, but the vehicle was built oh some 15 years back.

is the small pickup version. Released when they were using the dark blue boxing. Not sure if it was released before.
