I was talking to a friend and we were trying to find info on wheel and tyre sizes on early 1990's DTM cars like Mercedes E class, Alfa 155's and so forth.
I have the Fujimi Mercedes Benz E class DTM (DEBIS sponsored car) and the wheels look way to wide!

I think they were 18"diameter x 10"wide on all corners. The championship winning early 90's Audi was on display at a car show in Melbourne back in 2003, and I bent the fellow's ear about it for quite a while. Seem to remember they were 10" wide wheels, certainly much wider than the rim/tyre combo the 2 litre BMW's were running locally (7"maybe?).
I have the Klaus Ludwig "Running for Berlin" Macau issue of that 190E kit, and the wheels seem about the right size from memory, especially compared alongside the wheels from Hasegawa's BMW kit.
If memory serves me right, the Mercedes did indeed run on 18's, but the Alfas ran on big, six-spoked 19's. Width was the same on fronts and rears (though there may have been an exception or two that I don't know about). There was also some variation from year to year, and from wheel maker to wheel maker. By '92, they were running on huge rims with rubber bands stretched around them. (OK, I'm exaggerating a little, but not by much...) One place that you go to look at a lot of variations is the GPM site (Grand Prix Models). They carry aftermarket wheels in 43rd, and look especially at the Competition 43 and Sprint 43 lines. They usually have good photos, and the descriptions will tell you what the wheels were, what they went on, and the sizes. Sometimes, you can make out exactly what car they are on, as the photos generally show the wheel on the car.
