I heard a rumor that AMT is going to coming out with a COT? Is that true, if so what scale?
Thanks
Mike

Nothing of the sort appeared at the iHobbyExpo this weekend

Since Na$car controls the design and rights to the COT I'm sure the royalty level is well above the point of fiscal sanity for any company thinking about it. Probably why we only see diecast versions of the COT.

You smell that? Do you smell that? ... Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

Doubtful. NASCAR kits are Tango Uniform

If you look for NASCAR kits on the shelves, there aren't any new ones (and old ones are pretty scarce). Apparently, the royalties for licensing have made it too expensive to continue to manufacture these kits. Soooo, any new NASCAR kits (read pre-production amortization) are unlikely. Licensing issues pretty much put the NASCAR decal companies out of business, too. Even bootleg decals have dried-up.

As a builder of NASCAR kits, I have been going through withdrawals. My stash of these kits is slowly dwindling. A COT kit would be welcome news, indeed, simply because it would mean that the licensing issues have been settled.

RC2 / AMT showed this one.......

[linked image]

AMT had previously done 1/25 but since Revell has said they won't do any more NASCAR subjects AMT may be doing this in 1/24.....no one seems to know for sure.

It's reported that the Impala is a snap kit which will be issued in pre-decorated and un-decorated versions.
