My son-in-law purchased a 1989 Corvette. I was wondering if anyone makes a plastic model kit of the 89 Corvette? I would like to build and paint it to match the one he purchased.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Dan

Can't find an '89 but you may be able to get by with slightly earlier or later models. Rollmodels has a 1/24 Arii '92 Corvette. I can't tell much of a difference between the various models of the late '80s to early '90s Corvettes. It may be possible to backdate the Arii kit.

88 corvette kit is close

November 22 2009, 11:01 PM

Hello

the 1988 corvette is identical, the only real difference is the rims,

no real changes done on the body of the car

monogram had a kit of the 88 corvette, so did amt and mpc.

amt made promos of it.

monogram made a 1/24th scale model of it.

the 1984 - 1989 vettes look the same on the outside, but in 1990 the front valance changed and there was some differences on the front end.

amt reissued most of the vette kits they made within the last few years, monogram hasn't reissued them.

you'll have to look online and see if any auction sites or a model store has one.

take care
George
